Noynoy News

Here's an excerpt of an opinionated report made by a blogger:

Off to a Bad Start: Sense of Betrayal; Minority President; Hostile Senate and House; Chief Justice

Thanks to the malicious schemes played out by Peping Cojuangco and Kamag-anak Inc., Noynoy Aquino is in for major trouble even way before starting his term!

Manuel Luis Quezon III idiotically thinks 40% plurality is an overwhelming mandate

With most members of the Liberal Party and other allied groups totally disgusted by what has now been exposed to be an insidious plot by Noynoy’s own uncle Peping and Kamag-anak Inc to actively, but sneakily sabotage Mar and the Liberal Party, there is chaos and division even among the very supporters of Noynoy Aquino.  Combine that problem of divison and disunity within the Pro-Noynoy camp with the fact that Noynoy Aquino, despite all the misguided description of him as “The People’s President” or “the President with a Landslide” does not have a real mandate because he only happens  to be a Minority President having roughly around 40% of all the votes cast. A real landslide is a Majority win, not a Plurality.

According to President-apparent Noynoy Aquino, his sister, Kris Aquino, will not be his First Lady as The Philippine Star reported on its May 22 issue.

As First Lady de facto (meaning in practice), maybe Kris can as Senator Mirriam Santiago pointed out.
Picture
In world politics, Park Geun-hye, a daughter of Park Chung-hee, president of South Korea from 1963 to 1979, became his father's First Lady de facto when her mother was assassinated.

Being First Lady in practice is a public service role in a democratic society and Kris may just be doing that after she proclaimed before the media this month that she will be serving alongside Noynoy.

Noynoy's campaign credo, "Kung Walang Corrupt, Walang Mahirap" is supposed to be his regime credo as well (if and when he is proclaimed the new President) because 'yun din naman ang hinain nila for voters to support him in the election. His official website shows it on the home page:
Picture
By 2013, this means na kapag may isang mahirap sa Pilipinas ay may corruption sa regime ni Noynoy. Of course, he may point the finger to other politicians when that is made to be an issue, but that will just make him look like a child evading responsibility when in fact he is the leader.

My point: the credo is counter productive kasi we will always have the poor among us. Exaggeration and misuse of the concept of poverty ang credo ni Noynoy kasi corruption is NOT the only force behind poverty.

Since Kris Aquino has made it official in an interview that she's serving Noynoy's interests in governance when the latter is sworn in, are you in favor of having her become the symbolic First Lady of the bachelor Noynoy?

Surveys help in conditioning the undecided voters prior to an election. If surveys are to be made as references, then it is important to know who are behind such efforts, right? Especially since ABS-CBN and GMA-7, including the daily newspapers are quoting on a daily basis prior to May 10, 2010 such survey-oriented organizations. They make it appear to be an official and credible reference... always.

A certain Professor Alfredo Sureta wrote a paper about the public opinion organisations in the Philippines in December 2009. In that paper, he stated that “some of the prominent members of the board and stockholders of Pulse Asia are blood relatives of Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, official candidate of the Liberal Party” who is now ironically leading the polls.

Interlocking directorship within two polling firms

The SWS was founded in 1986 by Dr. Mahar Mangahas, Prof. Felipe Miranda, then DPWH Sec. Jose P. de Jesus (under President Cory Aquino), Mercy Abad among others while Pulse Asia was founded in the 90s when Prof. Felipe Miranda separated from Mangahas and bolted SWS. It should be noted that Managhas is the cousin of the late presidential candidate Fernando Poe, Jr while some of the prominent members of the board and stockholders of the Pulse Asia are blood relatives of Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, official candidate for the president of the Liberal Party. The corporate records of both firms that are available at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) will also show interlocking directorship with several personalities appearing as stockholders of both SWS and Pulse Asia.

Felipe Mirand, Rosalinda T. Miranda, Gemino H. Abad, Mercedes R. Abad, Jose P. de Jesus appear in SEC records as being founders and or stockholders of both SWS and Pulse Asia.

Mercedes R. Abad who is president of TRENDS-MBL, is the one who used to conduct the field research for both SWS and Pulse Asia.

Jose P. de Jesus of Pulse Asia was the DPWH Secretary during the time of the late President Cory Aquino.

Antonio O. Conjuangco and Rafael Conjuangco Lopa of Pulse Asia are cousins of Benigno Simeon “Noynoy” Conjuangco Aquino III

According to President-apparent Noynoy Aquino, if he won the election then we had a clean and honest system of voting and tallying of votes.

A few months from now when he is sworn in as the next President, then we can
honestly attribute to Noynoy the analysis that we had a fair and honest election.

Si Noynoy mismo ang nagsabi n'yan in his interview with Bloomberg.

THE REPORT:

“If we have a correct counting of the votes, I think we will be very victorious,” said Aquino.

So, in essence, 'pag proclaimed na s'ya by Congress as the new President of the Philippines (or baka naman sasabihin n'yang dapat ay Sangguniang Kabataan ang mag-proclaim at 'di Congress because of another paranoia attack), we can honestly quote Noynoy to have said that the counting of votes this recently concluded automated election is correct.

Then, again, he can always take back what he said kasi ang dali lang naman magkamali lagi like his sister Kris Aquino saying Sorry lagi to the people na nasasaktan n'ya (parang automated rin na apology always citing friends and family advising her to make her look like she has license to always to be tactless then be apologetic later). Or like the issue about imposing additional taxes which he was opposed to last January, 2010, tapos biglang hindi na when March, 2010 came.

Almost everybody close to Noynoy Aquino is campaigning for national unity now that the senator is being seen as the next Philippine President.

What are we to unite for in good fate when the president-elect himself is being divisive about the earliest matter of being sworn in by the new Chief Justice Corona?

Hatred towards and manipulation of another public figure's appointment is clearly being rendered by the president-apparent. By insisting in having Corona's appointment rejected, Noynoy's show of arrogance is apparently in order.

The act of refusing to recognize the appointment of Chief Justice Corona is setting a bad example to the youth who are supposed to see how a President respect other members of public service institutions. Otherwise he will not have any problem being sworn in by the new Chief Justice.

Noynoy can be sworn in by anybody he wants as long as it legalizes the act according to the rule of law and yet he insists on voicing out in the media that he will not recognize the appointment of Corona.

Why all the drama?

If this is going to be how the new government is going to be led every month, the nation is going to be stressed out.

Straight from the horse's mouth via ABS-CBN News online:

“Ang dami ko kasing probinsiyang napuntahan na napangakuan ng napakarami. And I have to be true to my word. Lahat ng mga pinangako kong tulong na ipapaabot ni Noy, kailangan ko pong magampanan ‘yong tulong na ‘yon because they trusted us. ‘Yong tiwalang ‘yon, ‘yong botong ‘yon, isosoli po namin. Paano? Sa serbisyo sa bawat Filipino dahil walang korupsyon,” she added.

This means that actress-host Kris Aquino is no longer just a campaigner of her brother. She's also, in her words, staying put in the Philippines amidst calls for a despedida by officially helping in the governance of Noynoy Aquino.

Kris did not say she would leave the Philippines if Noynoy won, period. She said that she'd leave the country kung maging pabigat lang s'ya sa presidency. When she does become one, that's the only time her detractors can make her become true to her word.

According to the May 13, 2010 Inquirer, Noynoy is to save on travel costs by not going abroad and instead just sending representatives abroad.

THE REPORT:

“As a general rule, I don’t want to travel outside the Philippines. The last time I traveled was when President Estrada was still the leader,” said Aquino in an interview with reporters.

Aquino said that as much as possible, he would deploy lower-level government executives to represent the country in trade and foreign policy negotiations overseas.

“My main point is to generate savings by doing things the cheaper way. Our deficit is so big we really have to save,” said Aquino.

Is he saving on travel costs or from working as a President?

If he will not travel abroad, sending replacements for him will still require use of money. Worse, the act of sending lower level government officials to negotiate for the Philippines on his behalf is tantamount to saying that he won't do the job he's supposed to do. Lower level government officials have streamlined tasks to accomplish and going abroad on decision-making negotiations for the nation as a President is not their main task.

Kaya nga may local officials that the Filipinos elected to take care of the local scene.

Every president has constituents. Presidential candidate Noynoy Aquino is almost the winner leading with more than 13 million votes as of this writing.

Did you vote for him?

A week after the recently-concluded Philippine election, are you second-guessing your vote?
